Tick Surveillance and Lyme Disease

For the past several years, the Kendall County Health Department has been surveying sites throughout Kendall County for the presence of deer ticks.  Deer ticks are potential carriers of Lyme Disease. During surveillance efforts, active deer ticks are collected and tested for the presence of Lyme Disease. Of  the deer ticks collected in 2017, 43% tested positive for Lyme Disease. Reducing exposure to ticks is the best way to protect yourself and your family from this disease.  To learn more information about Tick Surveillance and Lyme Disease,  please visit our website or call the Kendall County Health Department at 630-553-9100.
