Kendall County Cooperative Police Assistance Team and Criminal Intelligence

 

The Kendall County Cooperative Police Assistance Team (KCPAT) is a voluntary organization which is comprised of state, county, and local law enforcement contributors who pool their resources to participate in a multijurisdictional enforcement group.  Those organizations that choose to contribute to the organization shall have an Intergovernmental Agreement approved by the governing bodies of the participating Units.

The purpose of KCPAT is to combat the multijurisdictional trafficking of illegal narcotics, controlled substances, dangerous drugs, gun crimes, and gang related crimes, to defend the Constitution of the United States of America, and to establish principles of professionalism in law enforcement.  In addition KCPAT also assists local law enforcement agencies with investigating general criminal incidents, major crime investigations, and assists different jurisdictions with requests for assistance.

The Kendall County Criminal Intelligence Team (CIT) is part of KCPAT as well. CIT is focused on reducing and monitoring gang activity and gang crime within and around Kendall County.  CIT also targets drug crime and prevents further drug distribution throughout the county, working closely with uniformed and covert law enforcement. CIT is able to procure and execute search warrants for people and places around the county in an effort to diminish gang and drug crimes. CIT is an overt team dedicated to reducing crime in Kendall County and works
