The K-9 Unit at the Kendall County Sheriff's Office works to achieve the Sheriff's Office's commitment to the safety of Kendall County residents. K-9 Miko is a 5 year old Belgian Malinois trained in narcotics detection, tracking, building/article, searches, suspect apprehension, and handler protection. K-9 Rizzo is a 1 year old Bloodhound who is trained in tracking. The K-9's and their handlers receive extensive amounts of training to maintain their proficiency. In addition to the work these dogs and their handlers perform on duty, they are sought after to participate in community events to raise awareness about their use and effectiveness.
