Kendall County Honors Sandra Davis

Sandra Davis has worked as a County Director for University of Illinois Extension since February 2000. She began her duties as the County Director for the Kane, DuPage and Kendall Unit in 2010. During her Extension career she has served in many roles. She began her Extension career in LaSalle County serving as an Extension home economist for 21 years. In 1992, Davis became an Extension Educator, Community Leadership and Volunteerism, with the Peru Extension Center and later with the Rockford Extension Center. In 2000, she returned to LaSalle County as the Unit Leader. In 2003 she joined the staff in Kendall County, where she served as County Director prior to her current appointment.
Davis received both her master of science and a bachelor of science in education from Northern Illinois University. She is a graduate of the Community Development Institute at University of Central Arkansas. Davis has co-authored Community Swap: Finding A Fresh Perspective on Your Community curriculum and facilitator’s manual as well as the Leadership Development Through Community Action curriculum and facilitator’s manual. She was a contributing author to Help! I’ve Just Been Appointed to An Advisory Board.
As the County Director in the Kane, DuPage and Kendall Unit, Davis’ responsibilities include: providing leadership and supervision to unit staff, coordinating unit programming to meet the needs of local citizens, fiscal entrepreneurship and management. She also provides guidance to the Unit Extension Councils and Foundations.
