Chairman Gryder and Board Member Procahska tour TransCanada Compressor Station in Sandwich

For Immediate Release – On July 31, 2018 , County Board Chairman Scott Gryder and Kendall County District 1 Board member Matthew Prochaska, along with State Rep David Welter (75th District), Plano Mayor Bob Hausler, and Sandwich Mayor Rick Olson toured the TransCanada Compressor Station in unincorporated Kendall County south of Sandwich.

TransCanada’s ANR Pipeline Company has been expanding its facilities in Illinois and Wisconsin to increase its capacity to serve markets in the Midwest. The Wisconsin South Expansion Project (WISE) will increase capacity through ANR’s Sandwich Compressor Station in Illinois by 230,950 dekatherms a day (Dth/d). The capacity is needed to meet growing distribution and electric generation demand in the Midwest. The project is installing one new compressor unit and appurtenant facilities which will enable ANR to increase the Sandwich north mainline throughput capacity.

Local engineers and personnel led area officials through the station on a tour. They explained the scope of the project, the need, and the facilities that will be constructed. Also addressed were concerns about noise levels in the area, issues around construction, and operational safety and impacts to the environment.
