Experience
Eric Weis was elected as State’s Attorney for Kendall County in November of 2006 and was sworn in on December 1, 2006. Prior to being elected, Eric served as the First Assistant State’s Attorney, since 2002, under two former State’s Attorneys. During that time, Eric served as the chief felony prosecutor for major violent and drug related offenses which occurred in Kendall County. Eric began his legal career with the Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office in 1995 and was sworn in as an assistant state’s attorney in 1997. Eric was admitted to the Illinois Bar as well as the Federal Bar in 1997 after graduating with honors from Northern Illinois University College of Law.

Background
Eric is a lifelong resident of Kendall County. He was born and raised in Oswego and currently lives in Yorkville with his wife, Jody, and his two children. He is a member of many volunteer organizations within the community; including being an active member of the Bristol-Kendall Fire Protection District as a firefighter/EMT; as well as a coach for local youth sports.
