The Support Services Division of the Sheriff’s Office provides police support services to the citizens of Kendall County. There are currently 13 Deputy Sheriff’s assigned to the division as well as 9 full and part time records clerks. The division is broken down into Training, Evidence, Records, and Court Security.
The training coordinator is responsible for developing and documenting in service training, as well as training from outside sources, and insuring that all mandated certifications for those officers with specialized duties remain current.
The evidence custodian maintains an accurate inventory of all property in our possession, whether found, seized, or otherwise obtained. Insuring an impeccable chain of custody for all evidence is essential to the prosecution of any criminal case.
The records unit is responsible for data entry of all reports, citations, civil process document creation and tracking. They insure that multiple types
of data and statistics are reported to various state agencies, in accordance with law. Their efforts create a vital historical record of criminal and non criminal events occurring within Kendall County.
The court security detail screens all persons entering the courthouse, prohibiting contraband items from being brought into the facility. They are responsible for the secure movement of in custody defendants within the building and maintaining security throughout, including within the courtrooms. |
