Kendall County Forest Preserve District
Natural Areas Restoration

The open space owned by the Kendall County Forest Preserve District contains many quality natural areas. The District acts as a responsible steward by conducting management of these natural areas. This management protects the biodiversity and the overall health of the native ecosystems.
Natural areas management includes carefully planned controlled burns, brush removal, invasive plant control and native plant seeding. These management practices create suitable habitats that allow native plants and animals to thrive.
District staff and volunteers provide the muscle behind this very important work. If you would like to learn more about volunteering, please click on ‘Volunteer Opportunities’ on our home page or contact 630 553-4131.
