Jay Woods Forest Preserve

Jay Woods Forest Preserve is a 120 acre site located in farm territory at the northwest corner of Kendall County.

The Little Rock Creek is a shining jewel as it meanders through inspiring woodlands that were cared for over the years with conservation in mind.

You will find a bur oak savanna, a restored corn-crib turned trail head, and a charming shelter with a fire ring available to reserve for your special occasion.

Features include 1.8 miles of trails, a deck overlooking the Little Rock Creek, and interpretive signage. 

Jay Woods FP has 45 acres of oak, hickory woodlands to the east, and 75 acres of restored prairie to the west of Creek Road.

On the west side a prairie restoration project has a 1 mile multi-use trail suitable for hiking, bicycle and cross-country skiing.
