Baker Woods Forest Preserve

Baker Woods is a 25-acre preserve located on Route 52, about 2 miles west of Ridge Road.  Two small shelters are a welcome spot for a picnic lunch.  Fishing is permitted in the Aux Sable Creek.
Baker Woods contains a diverse woodland that includes towering oaks, maples, and  more unique trees such as the Kentucky Coffee Tree.  Spring offers a great show of wildflowers and migrating birds.  The Aux Sable Creek is a high quality stream that meanders along-side the preserve.

If you are a birder, Baker Woods is a great place to visit. The Aux Sable Creek attracts waterfowl, wading birds and Belted Kingfishers. The wood-lands are full of warblers and other migrants in the spring and many resident bird species all year long.
