Honorary Deputy Coroner Steve O'Brien
Steve O'Brien currently works as a Funeral Director for Miller Funeral Home in West Dundee. He has been a Deputy Coroner since 2000.
Honorary Deputy Coroner Mike Swindle
Mike Swindle is a patrol trooper with the Illinois State Police (Dist. 11) He is the Co-founder of the North Central Search & Rescue (Yorkville). Mike completed training and received certification at Tri County K9. He has worked human remains detection cases with the Illinois State Police as well as with numerous local agencies in the Chicago area. He is currently associated with Illinois K9 Resources in Springfield and Midwest K9 SAR in Collinsville, Illinois.
His dog is “Darby”, a 3 year old Belgian Malinois. She is a forensic dog who specializes in locating articles of evidence containing human scent or gunpowder and human remains.
