Kendall County Regional Planning Commission Opening

Kendall County Board Chairman John Shaw is accepting applications to fill one (1) vacancy on the Kendall County Regional Plan Commission. Interested applicants must be a resident of Big Grove Township. The Plan Commission is comprised of ten (10) citizen appointees, each representing one of the nine townships that make up the County in addition to one “at large” representative. The Commission is a recommending body to the County Board and is responsible for providing comment and recommendations on zoning, land use and subdivision issues affecting unincorporated properties. It is also responsible for assisting in the development and conduct of the formal public hearings involving updates and amendments to the County’s Land Resource Management Plan. The Commission meets the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM. Meetings are held in the County Board Room located on the second floor (Rooms 209 & 210) of the County Administration Building, 111 W. Fox Street, Yorkville, IL 60560. Interested Big Grove Township residents should submit an application to John Shaw, County Board Chairman care of the County Administrator’s Office, 111 W. Fox Street, Room 316, Yorkville, IL 60560.

Kendall County Historic Preservation Commission Opening

Kendall County Board Chairman John Shaw is accepting applications to fill two (2) vacancies on the Kendall County Historic Preservation Commission. Interested applicants must be either an engineer/architect or an historian. The Historic Preservation Commission is comprised of seven (7) citizen appointees who have special knowledge or training in fields closely related to historic preservation: an attorney, a historian or architectural historian, an architect/engineer, a real estate professional, a county board liaison and other persons with a demonstrated interest in archeology, architecture or preservation. The Commission is a recommending body to the County Board and has certain powers and authorities designated to the Commission by the County Board. The Commission meets the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00PM. Meetings are held in the County Board Room located on the second floor (Rooms 209 & 210) of the County Administration Building, 111 W. Fox Street, Yorkville, IL 60560. Interested residents should submit an application to John Shaw, County Board Chairman care of the County Administrator’s Office, 111 W. Fox Street, Room 316, Yorkville, IL 60560.
